Support the Fifth Maine Museum -

We rely on a band of dedicated volunteers to keep the Fifth Maine Museum going strong. Join the crew that gets behind the scenes at the Fifth Maine!

There are so many ways to help! Become a member, a volunteer, a docent or a donor.

Our members understand how valuable the Fifth Maine Museum is to the Peaks Island community. We host dozens of cultural events each year, foster a deep appreciation for Peaks Island History, and invest thousands of upkeep dollars  to honor the legacy of the Fifth Maine Regiment veterans.

Our volunteers work behind the scenes on projects and events. If you can flip a pancake, make a phone call, wave a paintbrush or bake — we need you!

Fill out our contact form or call us at (207) 766-3330 for more information.

It takes a village to develop new exhibits, deliver local history programming, and to keep an architectural gem like the Fifth Maine Museum open. Be part of our village!! Family membership is only $30/year and members enjoy free entry!

If you are interested in donating to the collection, please contact the curator.

Our docents tell us over and over how much they enjoy sharing nuggets of Peaks Island history or stories about the Fifth Maine Regiment with museum visitors.

“It was fun learning the back story of the museum exhibits, but the real joy comes from sharing it with our guests.”

Just fill out this form to receive our quarterly newsletter. We promise we won’t inundate you with requests or share your information. It’s just a nice way to keep in touch!

Wear your loyalty to the Fifth Maine Museum on your sleeve. Or your head. Or your coffee mug. We’ve got merch – for you or for gifts!
