YCCAC offers a range of transportation options, available to the general public and equipped for people with disabilities. These include both public transportation and contracted/special service transport. Our Transportation Program promotes independence and self-sufficiency by providing the only means for some residents to get to work, attend doctor appointments, do errands, and more.
Getting people where they need to go is critical to the health and vitality of any community.
Sanford Transit:Provides year-round in-town service from Springvale to South Sanford with designated stops, route deviation, and connecting services.
WAVE: Provides premium year-round service between Sanford-Biddeford and Sanford-Wells, as well as door-to-door service options for a minimal fee. Reservation required.
Shoreline Explorer: We operate a seasonal trolley and shuttle service which coordinates with private operators to provide service between York and the Kennebunks. The Orange line operates year-round between Sanford and Wells and also provides connecting services.
Other Transportation Services When YCCAC’s public transportation services are not an option, our volunteer drivers may be able to help. Using their own vehicles, these screened and trained volunteers provide a critical component of our client-centered service.
Our Volunteer Driver Program is for people that cannot be served by YCCAC’s public transportation options.
The Connect to Cancer Care Program will provide transportation services to any resident needing assistance getting to cancer care at area facilities.
Our Local Rides routes take residents to the closest regional shopping and medical destinations once a week for each town served. Riders are typically picked up at their homes with a return trip an hour or more later. Reservation required.
Our York County Veterans service helps veterans requiring transportation to medical appointments. Reservation required.

YCCAC’s Transportation Program is partially funded by the Federal Transit Administration and the Maine Department of Transportation, they are open to all people, and fully comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
All YCCAC buses and trolleys are accessible. Service animals are allowed on all YCCAC buses and vans and must be under the control of the rider. Portable oxygen equipment handled by a rider will be accommodated.
Funding for the Connect to Cancer Care program is provided by the Maine Cancer Foundation.
